Abstract -
Currently, the word IoT trends as a field of research in various engineering disciplines. IoT includes various elements like communication technologies, communication protocols, identification technologies, sensing, computation, services and semantics. In the smart city application several heterogeneous devices needs to be connected through the internet for communication. In the smart city application we will have huge data to be collected from various applications and database which needs to be classified and analyzed. The research areas in IoT for smart city include authorization, authentication, secured communication, congestion control, and knowledge engineering. This paper reviews the recent implementations of various IoT applications and their research issues in the smart city application.
